RADIESSE® is a unique filler comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite. What makes is so unique? RADIESSE® is the only injectable filler that not only provides immediate results but also gives you long-term improvement by stimulating your bodies own natural collagen and elastin production.
WHERE CAN RADIESSE BE USED?
RADIESSE® can be used to smooth and soften moderate to servere facial wrinkles, such as the nasolabial folds (the creases that extend from the corner of your mouth to the corner of your nose). RADIESSE® can also be used to treat moderate to severe facial volume loss such as your cheek area. Additionally, RADIESSE® is FDA approved to treat and contour your jawline.
CAN RADIESSE® BE USED ON OTHER AREAS?
YES! RADIESSE® can be used on any areas of the body to tighten and diminish crepey skin as well as treat laxity. If you are suffering from saggy, crepey, lax skin on your arms, neck, legs, knees, elbows, hands, and even your buttocks, we can use RADIESSE®. The Calcium Hydroxylapatite helps to stimulate collagen and elastin by creating a scaffolding like structure. This procedure is called Hyperdilution. Though the mixture is made of RADIESSE®, lidocaine, and sterile water or saline, you can still see an immediate softening of the treated skin.
WHAT IS HYPERDILUTED RADIESSE®?
Depending on the area to be treated, your injector will use RADIESSE® with a mixture of lidocaine and saline to target crepey, sagging skin. This hyperdiluted mixture, over time will strenghthen and tighten the skin. Depending on the amount of laxity, you may require subsequent treatments over time. Typically we like to perform this procedure on your skin and recommend you come back in 6 to 8 weeks to retreat. For more severe laxity, you may require another session.
DOES IT HURT OR HAVE DOWNTIME?
RADIESSE® treatments for cheek volume, jawline, or lower facial wrinkles and lines, have minimal downtime. Some side effects can be bruising, swelling, and tenderness at the injection site. Typically, most patients do not have bruising. We recommend you avoid products containing aspirin, NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aleve, etc.), fish oils, alcohol, or any medication that may thin your blood for at least 3-5 days before your treatment.
